Executive Vice President Real Estate and Development (FRICS, MRTPI)

Alistair Wood is Executive Vice President for Real Estate and Development at AEG International, where he oversees all of AEG’s real estate activities outside of the Americas. 

In London, Alistair oversees The O2 estate, which opened in 2007 and comprises 1.1 million sq ft of space centred around the world’s busiest music arena. He also conceived and led the delivery of Up at The O2, a roofwalk experience that has been a multi-year winner of the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award and has attracted more than 110,000 visitors annually since opening in 2012.

In Germany, Alistair manages the development and sale of 15 hectares of land surrounding AEG’s Uber Arena in Berlin. This 6 million sq ft mixed-use scheme includes a dedicated Entertainment District and the Uber Eats Music Hall. 

In Nagoya, Japan, Alistair recently led the development of IG Arena, a 17,500-capacity venue that hosts more than 150 events each year and welcomes approximately 1.4 million visitors annually.

Most recently, Alistair led negotiations for British Airways ARC, a 4,000-capacity venue in London, and Edinburgh Park Arena, an 8,500-capacity multi-purpose venue in Edinburgh. The Edinburgh project is expected to attract over 700,000 visitors annually, generate £520 million per year for the local economy, and create approximately 1,300 jobs, establishing it as a major cultural and economic asset for the city.

Alistair spearheads AEG International's business expansion in all markets outside of the Americas. His work includes the development of new arenas in Seoul, Korea and Bangkok, Thailand, as well as leading the creation of an 18,000-capacity arena and entertainment district in Osaka, Japan.

With over 20 years under his belt, Alistair joined AEG in 2004 after serving as a partner in the Planning and Development department at Montagu Evans.

Alistair lives in London and in his spare time, plays football and spends time with his family.
