AEG in Japan: Advancing a World-Class Live Entertainment Market

Japan is the world’s second-largest live entertainment market, with one of the highest volumes of live events and touring activity globally, supported by strong domestic demand and a consistently high event count across major cities. At the same time, the market remains structurally underserved by globally competitive, premium entertainment infrastructure. As the market continues to expand and audience expectations evolve, this gap represents a significant long-term opportunity.

In Japan, AEG International brings world-class live entertainment to passionate audiences across the country through best-in-class infrastructure. With a focus on innovation, excellence, and immersive experiences, AEG is elevating the live event landscape in Japan.

At the forefront of this presence is IG Arena in Nagoya, which opened in 2025. With a capacity of 17,500, IG Arena welcomes over 1.4 million visitors annually and hosts more than 150 events each year. As one of Japan’s largest indoor arenas, it delivers an unparalleled mix of international and regional music, entertainment, basketball, and other indoor sports. IG Arena is also proudly home to the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins, providing fans with premier basketball experiences in a state-of-the-art venue.

Looking to the future, AEG is set to expand its impact in Japan with the upcoming Osaka Arena, scheduled to open in 2030. This 18,000-seat venue will anchor a vibrant new entertainment district, just 13 km from central Osaka. The project will feature luxury suites, hospitality lounges, hotels, retail and commercial space, and a residential neighbourhood - creating a complete destination for visitors. Hosting over 145 events per year and welcoming 1.6 million guests annually, Osaka Arena will act as a must-play venue on both the domestic and international touring circuit.

As part of AEG’s global ecosystem, AEG International works in close collaboration with AEG Presents, a leading concert promoter and festival producer; AXS, an advanced ticketing and technology platform; and AEG Global Partnerships, which connects brands with AEG’s worldwide portfolio of sports and live entertainment assets. Together, these capabilities enable AEG to not only grow Japan’s live entertainment market, but also create vibrant destinations and enduring communities centered around unforgettable live experiences.
